Monday Recap:
Our lone play did not come through, similarly to the Cardinals offense. Despite Andre Pallante doing all we could ask for - his teammates did not return the favor.
Cardinals ML (+110); Risk 1.00 unit to win 1.10 Loss
Burke's Bet:
Mets @ Yankees
The Subway Series resumes tonight with the venue shifting to Yankee Stadium.
Luis Gil is set to start for the home team.
The 26-year-old has performed exceptionally well in his first full season:
3.17 ERA, 3.35 xERA, 3.60 FIP, 4.05 xFIP
The main issue for Gil resides in his walk rate. He's walking over 4.3 batters per nine innings pitched.
In his prior start against the Mets, he walked four batters and surrendered five earned runs in just four innings of work.
This could be a difficult lineup to navigate around yet again for the right-hander, seeing as the Mets continue to rake versus RHP.
Since June 1st, they boast a 126 wRC+, a 196 ISO and a .786 OPS against them.
Conversely, the Yanks will face a southpaw.
Jose Quintana will take the bump with his alarming stat line featuring a 4.13 ERA, 5.17 xERA, 4.99 FIP and 4.39 xFIP.
Furthermore, Quintana is allowing 1.5 home runs per nine innings pitched, has a .353 xwOBA and a 43% hard hit rate.
The Bronx Bombers haven't been exactly lived up to the name against LHP since June 1st:
103 wRC+, .147 ISO, .698 OPS
Although, this matchup against Quintana provides a strong opportunity to pad those stats.
Also, the wind is blowing out and the humidity is high. I believe we will witness a plethora of runs in this outing.
Play: Yankees/Mets Over 9 (-105); Risk 1.05 units to win 1.00
